Audio mixers

We all love to watch Television but we cant just watch our shows with out sound now can we. That is where the Audio Mixers come in. these are the guys who set up the microphones, and all of the cables needed in order for the sound to be broadcasted over the air. That means you set up all of the microphones for how ever many anchors you have then their is the Meteorologist to mic, and you have to make sure that if there is any other location being used live on the show is able to be mic’s for the show properly. Your duty is not over when you set up the audio then you are responsible to test and make sure that all of your sources of audio are working from your mic’s that you have set up to CD’s and music used for the show, to the audio on the tape decks where all of the packages and SOT’s are playing. Then once your sources are tested you are responsible for making sure that the shows overall audio level does not peek and distort. At times this may mean keeping track of four to six sources of audio at once.
